Never use a
‘clarifier’ with products!
The clarifier can remove the residual from
your spa water and clog up your filter.
is a natural clarifier. Cure cloudy water with non-chlorine
shock.
Don’t fight a chemical war with your spa particularly
with regard to pH. will
gently help maintain the ideal pH and alkalinity in your hot
tub. However, when you add a non-chlorine shock treatment,
the pH can shift somewhat. After adding the non-chlorine shock
treatment run your jets and let the spa sit for a while; then
check your pH again. Typically your water will return to a
normal pH range.
On the rare occasion when you find that you have to adjust
your hot tub’s pH, some common household products can
be used. White vinegar or concentrated lemon juice (no pulp)
will lower your pH, while common baking soda will raise it.
Check your spa’s instruction manual to make sure it
does not specifically forbid these methods before implementing.
Clean your cover at least once a month with
Vinyl Top Conditioner & Restorer to
avoid mould dripping into your spa water. This helps to reduce
odors in your tub as well minimize sanitizer load.
It will also extend the life of your cover.
Foam: The best method to avoid foam from
forming is to have a soap-less shower before you enter your
hot tub.
If you don’t use your spa for a long period of time,
you will find that your water stays nice and clear for 3 to
5 months. Before using your hot tub again, you need to add
a new bottle of Spa
Sustain to recondition the water. Use non-chlorine
shock.
Safety tips:
- Never heat your hot tub water to more than 104 degrees
F. Excessive heat can be damaging to your health as well
as your spa equipment.
- Never use your hot tub under the influence of drugs or
alcohol.
- Chlorine and Bromine are EXTREMELY dangerous chemical
compounds. If you choose to use chlorine or bromine as a
sanitizer, always use the minimum recommended residual amount.
Never allow children in your tub immediately after adding
chlorine or bromine! Do not scatter chlorine and bromine
in the tub as the finer particles can be swept up in the
wind and into your lungs. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s
instructions carefully.
